TAGZ1

Las Vegas Contemporary Artist Creating Artifacts From Imaginary Worlds

Building Worlds Disguised as Objects

TAGZ1 is a Las Vegas-based contemporary artist whose work exists somewhere between fine art, storytelling, worldbuilding, and artifact creation.

Working primarily with acrylic on custom-framed hardboard, TAGZ1 creates pieces that feel less like paintings and more like recovered objects from realities operating just beyond our own.

Every work begins with a question:

What if this world already existed?

The result is a collection of highly conceptual pieces filled with symbolism, ritual, mythology, narrative structure, and visual systems that invite viewers into stories larger than the artwork itself.

Art That Exists Beyond the Frame

Most artwork asks viewers to admire what is in front of them.

TAGZ1 asks viewers to wonder what exists beyond it.

Every piece functions as evidence.

A clue.

A fragment.

A recovered artifact from a larger world that appears to exist whether anyone is looking at it or not.

Characters have histories.

Objects have purposes.

Symbols have meanings.

The viewer isn’t simply observing the artwork.

They’re entering a narrative.

Searching for Meaning Inside Larger Systems

At the heart of TAGZ1’s work is an exploration of what it means to search for purpose inside structures bigger than ourselves.

Identity.

Power.

Control.

Belonging.

Mythology.

Ritual.

Technology.

The work examines the tension between individuality and the systems that shape human experience.

Rather than providing answers, the artwork creates environments where questions can exist without resolution.

Influenced by Pop Culture’s Great Mythologies

TAGZ1 draws inspiration from sources that many people overlook as modern mythology.

Comic books.

Movies.

Professional wrestling.

DIY culture.

Science fiction.

Cyberpunk.

These worlds create their own rules, symbols, heroes, villains, rituals, and belief systems.

The artist approaches them not as entertainment alone, but as cultural storytelling mechanisms that reveal how people search for meaning and identity.

The Process Is Part of the Artwork

For TAGZ1, the painting itself is only one stage of creation.

The process begins long before paint touches a surface.

Concept development.

Research.

Photography.

Prop fabrication.

Wardrobe alterations.

Digital composition.

Object construction.

Visual systems.

Narrative development.

The final artwork becomes the visible record of everything that came before it.

A finished piece is not the destination.

It is the evidence.

Entering the Electric Ladies Universe

One of TAGZ1’s most recognizable bodies of work is the Electric Ladies series.

Inspired by 1980s cyberpunk aesthetics, the collection explores the collision between technology, identity, commerce, and humanity.

Set within a world of neon shadows and corporate control, the series presents cybernetically enhanced women displayed as products within a futuristic marketplace.

The work explores questions of agency, objectification, identity, and value while maintaining the seductive visual language that defines the cyberpunk genre.

Featured Artwork

Electric Ladies 04

24” x 24”

Acrylic on Custom-Framed Hardboard

Part of the Electric Ladies series, 04 introduces viewers to a world where identity has been reduced to a designation and individuality exists beneath layers of programming and expectation.

The piece balances beauty and unease, inviting viewers to question the systems that define human value.

Electric Ladies 06

24” x 24”

Acrylic on Custom-Framed Hardboard

Expanding the narrative established in the Electric Ladies collection, 06 continues the exploration of power, control, and manufactured identity.

Like much of TAGZ1’s work, the piece feels less like a portrait and more like a glimpse into a larger universe already in motion.

Who Collects TAGZ1?

Collectors are often drawn to the work because it feels familiar without being easily explained.

Many connect with the emotional undercurrents hidden beneath the visual storytelling.

Others are attracted to the mythology, symbolism, and worldbuilding.

The work particularly resonates with people who have never fully felt at home inside ordinary reality.

Why Original Art Matters

Mass-produced decor helps a room look complete.

Original art helps a person feel understood.

TAGZ1 creates work for collectors seeking more than decoration.

For those looking for narrative.

For those searching for symbols.

For those who have always suspected there might be something beyond the surface.
